                    Doug Knutson specializes in the photographic illustration 
                    of people for articles, ads, and annuals. A 
                    native of the Minneapolis area, Knutson received his B.A. 
                    from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, before returning to 
                    Minneapolis where he has been a photographer since 1986. Knutson 
                    also has studied with documentary photographer Mary Ellen 
                    Mark and portrait photographer Arnold Newman. Knutson 
                    often photographs assignments for Time, Business Week, and 
                    Information Week magazines. He has photographed many annual 
                    reports, including for clients Amgen, Blue Cross Blue Shield, 
                    and Possis Medical. He has shot ads for 3M, Northwest Airlines, 
                    Cunard Cruise Lines, and West Group. Among 
                    those who have sat for a Knutson portrait are Nobel laureates 
                    Elie Wiesel, Lech Walesa, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu; political 
                    figures Walter Mondale, Harold Stassen, David Gergan, and 
                    numerous cabinet Secretaries and Ambassadors; authors Amy 
                    Tan, Tom Clancy, and Rita Dove; television news personalities 
                    Tom Brokaw and Charles Osgood; former Beirut hostages Terry 
                    Waite and Terry Anderson; photographer Gordon Parks; explorers 
                    Robert Ballard (Titanic), David Breashears (Everest), and 
                    Sylvia Earle (National Geographic Society); and actor James
